Back To Their Old Tricks–Napolitano Asks To Delay Immigration Raids By Dept. Of Homeland “Security”

From the Washington Post

Napolitano More Interested In “Appearances” Than Security

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has delayed a series of proposed immigration raids and other enforcement actions at U.S. workplaces in recent weeks, asking agents in her department to apply more scrutiny to the selection and investigation of targets as well as the timing of raids, federal officials said.

B.S.–Here we go again–or rather, here we stay again.  Orders must have come down from the Obama-maniacs running the show that we are not to enforce immigration laws.

A senior department official said the delays signal a pending change in whom agents at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement choose to prosecute — increasing the focus on businesses and executives instead of ordinary workers.

“ICE is now scrutinizing these cases more thoroughly to ensure that [targets] are being taken down when they should be taken down, and that the employer is being targeted and the surveillance and the investigation is being done how it should be done,” said the official, discussing Napolitano’s views about sensitive law enforcement matters on the condition of anonymity.

B.S.–That’s the new term: “sensitive law enforcement.”  That’s not the answer, that’s the problem.

“There will be a change in policy, but in the interim, you’ve got to scrutinize the cases coming up,” the senior DHS official said, noting Napolitano’s expectations as a former federal prosecutor and state attorney general.

Another DHS official said Napolitano plans to release protocols this week to ensure more consistent work-site investigations and less “haphazard” decision-making.

Napolitano’s moves have led some to question President Obama’s commitment to work-site raids, which were a signature of Bush administration efforts to combat illegal immigration. Napolitano has highlighted other priorities, such as combating Mexican drug cartels and catching dangerous criminals who are illegal immigrants.  (Read more.)

B.S. Report–In the end, it will be inept, corrupt government that brings down our country.  They are completely unwilling to police our own borders–and on the rare occasions that we find a sheriff like Arpaio down in Arizona–we prosecute him for enforcing the law.

Angie Harmon--not just a pretty face...

Disagreeing With Obama Doesn’t Make Me Racist

Angie Harmon is not afraid to come out and say she doesn’t like how President Obama is handling the job — but she’s sick of having to defend herself from being deemed a racist.

“Here’s my problem with this, I’m just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it’s not because I’m a racist, it’s because I don’t like what he’s doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you’re called a racist,” Harmon told Tarts at Thursday’s Los Angeles launch of the new eyelash-growing formula, Latisse. “But it has nothing to do with it, I don’t care what color he is. I’m just not crazy about what he’s doing and I heard all about this, and he’s gonna do that and change and change, so okay … I’m still dressing for a recession over here buddy and we’ve got unemployment at an all-time high and that was his number one thing and that’s the thing I really don’t appreciate. If I’m going to disagree with my President, that doesn’t make me a racist. If I was to disagree with W, that doesn’t make me racist. It has nothing to do with it, it is ridiculous.”

Speaking of dislikes, the starlet has also had enough of the double-standards in the media.

“I do think McCain would have done a better job, only because I think he has more experience. I also think if W or John McCain or Reagan would have gone and done a talk show, the backlash would have been so huge and in his face, and ‘What is our president doing? How unclassy!’ But Obama does it and no one says anything,” Harmon said.

And in spite of the scornful opinions most of her Tinseltown counterparts have shared on Gov. Sarah Palin, Harmon remains a true fan.

“I admire any kind of woman like her. My whole motto is to know what I stand for and know what I don’t stand for and have the courage to live my life accordingly and she does exactly that. The fact that this woman has made the decisions she’s made and literally lived her life according to that and takes heat for it is absolutely disgusting to me,” she added. “People cannot look at this woman. I really think they’re afraid of her and her morals, ethics and values and the fact that she hangs on them. Is she the most experienced person in the world? But she was running to be the Vice President, so we then put the most inexperienced person as the President. That didn’t make any sense to me.”

However Harmon is definitely in the Hollywood minority when it comes to her criticism of Obama as other lasses at the Latisse party were quick to advocate their unequivocal support.

“The sort of criticism over the last couple of weeks is a bit unfounded, he’s been in office for barely any time and I think he inherited a lot on his plate and he’s doing a pretty remarkable job,” quipped Mandy Moore. “I think it’s cool that he went on Leno and I watched the “60 minutes” interview as well last week. The guy is just so articulate and he is so well versed in something that is so new to him and I think he has a good team around him. It sounds cliché, but he makes me feel proud to be an American.”

B.S.– “I think it’s cool.”  That’s the problem–Obama is seen as cool, thus his policies are seen as cool by many people.  If you revere freedom, his policies are definitely “uncool.”

Debra Messing also told Tarts that our new President is not only meeting her expectations, but going far beyond.

“He is thoughtful and considerate and he gets all the information before he speaks which I think is a wonderful quality for the ruler of the free world to have,” she explained.

B.S.–Excuse me Ms. Messing; much as Obama likes to think and act as if he’s the “ruler of the free world,” he’s only an elected leader.  Actually, don’t laugh, but he’s supposed to take his orders from the citizenry!

The ladies of “Entourage” certainly showed their Obama-loyalty too.

“It’s not an over night process. It’s going to get worse before it gets better; we’re all kind of in the same boat now. Everybody’s broke and everybody’s struggling and he makes me feel like I know him and that I know Michelle and that they’re like us and they’re out to try to save the USA. It’s just an amazing period to watch him take on these challenges and everyday in the news to hear about AIG or possibly global currency changing, it’s incredible. He’s facing big challenges and he’s got a lot of support and I’m just praying things get better,” Debi Mazar said, while co-star Perrey Reeves added that Obama is a “wonderful leader” and she’s looking forward to his future endeavors.

B.S. Report–I have no idea what Angie Harmon’s politics are; they are obviously not hard-core lib, but I doubt that she’s a “right-winger.”  But compare her statements to those made by Mandy Moore, Debi Mazar, or Perrey Reeves.

Whose statements show more intellectual depth and less emotion?  Harmon seems to be concerned with the economy and moral values–and she is critical of Obama’s handling of those areas.

Those other starlets, and I don’t really know them, (Mandy Moore–didn’t she date tennis star Pete Sampras?), based their ‘critique’ entirely on superficial appearances.  Statements like: “He makes me proud.”  “He’s thoughtful and considerate.”  “He’s a great leader.”

This is all emotion based on nothing tangible at all.  Obama, so far, has shown himself to be a poor leader.  Instead of galvanizing the country he has pushed its divisions even further.  The economy has not improved on his watch but worsened.

It’s painful to listen to (I assume, young women), pour their hearts out for their country and their President, but base their hopes entirely on such shallow, flimsy reasoning.

I don’t question their love of country one iota–but I do question their ability to make decisions based on anything but their most romanticized notions.   The ability of people, both young and old, to be taken in by smooth rhetoric is very discouraging.

GM=Government Motors; Obama Engineers Hostile Takeover

Welcome to Government Motors.

Welcome to Government Motors.

Neighborhood Thug Takes Over General Motors

WASHINGTON–Warning that they can’t depend on unending taxpayer dollars, President Barack Obama on Monday gave General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC a brief window to craft plans that would justify fresh government loans.

“We cannot, we must not, and we will not let our auto industry simply vanish,” President Obama said at the White House.

“What we are asking is difficult,” he said. “It will require hard choices by companies. It will require unions and workers who have already made painful concessions to make even more. It will require creditors to recognize that they cannot hold out for the prospect of endless government bailouts.”

The remarks come a day after the administration ousted GM Chief Executive Rick Wagoner and rejected the restructuring plans that GM and Chrysler had hoped would lead to another infusion of government cash. Instead, the White House is giving GM 60 days to come up with a strategy for viability. Chrysler has a month to wrap up a partnership with Italy’s Fiat SpA.

GM on Monday said it will address “the tough issues to improve the long-term viability of the company,” including the restructuring of its financial obligations, as it responded to Washington’s calls for stronger plans to stay afloat.

The administration says a “surgical” structured bankruptcy may be the only way forward for GM and Chrysler, and President Obama held out that prospect Monday.

Ousted! Obama axes Executive Direct Rick Wagoner.

Ousted! Obama axes GM Chief Executive Rick Wagoner.

“I know that when people even hear the word ‘bankruptcy,’ it can be a bit unsettling, so let me explain what I mean,” he said. “What I am talking about is using our existing legal structure as a tool that, with the backing of the U.S. government, can make it easier for General Motors and Chrysler to quickly clear away old debts that are weighing them down so they can get back on their feet and onto a path to success; a tool that we can use, even as workers are staying on the job building cars that are being sold.”

B.S. Report–This is why you allow inefficient companies to go out of business–because otherwise you end up being run by 535 people in Washington, D.C., most of whom have never run anything.

Now these companies (G.M. and soon, Chrysler) are going to be run not by market principles but by government, i.e. political principles.  They will be far less interested in pleasing customers than by satisfying the demands of their political allies.

For Obama, the neighborhood community thug turned President, this is one industry in his pocket, with several more still in the works.

3 Cheers For The Germans!–They Wreck Global “New Deal”

GORDON BROWN’S carefully laid plans for a G20 deal on worldwide tax cuts have been scuppered by an eve-of-summit ambush by European leaders.

"Put People First" Morons March Against...Well, Everything.

"Put People First" Morons March Against...Well, Everything.

Some Leaders Tired of Spending…Nope, Obama Not One Of Them

Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, last night led the assault on the prime minister’s “global new deal” for a $2 trillion-plus fiscal stimulus to end the recession.

“I will not let anyone tell me that we must spend more money,” she said.

The Spanish finance minister, Pedro Solbes, also dismissed new cash being pledged at Thursday’s London summit.

“In these conditions I and the rest of my colleagues from the eurozone believe there is no room for new fiscal stimulus plans,” he said.

Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, has insisted that “radical reform” of capitalism is more important than tax cutting.

The attacks on Brown’s ambitions for the G20 to inject more money into the world economy come at the end of a week where the prime minister has travelled to three continents to build support for his proposals.

The likely deadlock at this week’s meeting will kill any remaining hope that Alistair Darling’s April 22 budget will offer significant tax cuts.

The assault by European Union leaders also represents a defeat for President Barack Obama, who is desperate for other big economies to copy his $800 billion stimulus plan.  (Read more.)

B.S. Report–This is a sad time when the U.S. and the U.K. have to look to Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic to learn about capitalism.  Unfortunately, it’s to President Obama’s advantage (and his worldview) to strangle any remnants of a free-market out of the U.S. economy in order to further our dependence on Washington.

PETA A Hypocritical Killing Machine; Kills 95% Of Adoptable Pets At Norfolk, Virginia Headquarters

Attempts Made To Reclassify PETA As A Slaughterhouse

Stay on the streets "kitty," you have a better chance of finding a home yourself than at the PETA butcher shop.

Y0u might want to stay on the streets "kitty," you have a far better chance of finding a home by yourself than if you end up at PETA Headquarters--that's just a butcher shop.

WASHINGTON DC – Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed 95 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2008. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the animal rights group kills an average of 5.8 pets every day at its Norfolk, VA headquarters.

According to public records from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, PETA killed 2,124 pets last year and placed only seven in adoptive homes. Since 1998, a total of 21,339 dogs and cats have died at the hands of PETA workers.

Despite having a $32 million budget, PETA does not operate an adoption shelter. PETA employees make no discernible effort to find homes for the thousands of pets they kill every year. Last year, the Center for Consumer Freedom petitioned Virginia’s State Veterinarian to reclassify PETA as a slaughterhouse.  (Read more.)

B.S. Report–They’re obviously spending most of the money they collect on administrative salaries and advertising “stunts.”  PETA is more about making money than they are about “animal welfare.”

Their headquarters placed 7 pets all of last year–any one of us could do better than that taking ads out in our local papers or “Pennysaver.”  Yet, I’d wager that their President, Ingrid Newkirk, is living the good life off of her “concern” for animal rights.

London G20 In Lockdown Mode After Bomb Plot Thwarted

Five people suspected of terrorist offences were being questioned by police today in connection with a plot against the G20 summit.

Two mounted officers on patrol in front of the Bank of England. Why? If it's like our banks, there's shouldn't be anything left in there after the "stimulus."

Three men and two women have been arrested under the Terrorism Act in Plymouth over the last three days after officers uncovered a cache of weapons and suspected extremist material during a house search.

The five were held after officers found weapons, imitation weapons, suspicious devices and ‘material relating to political ideology’ during a house search, a spokesman said.

Officers conducted a series of raids after a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on Friday evening.

As police searched his home they found weapons, imitation weapons and suspected extremist material relating to political ideology.

Several suspicious devices were also seized and sent for detailed forensic examination.

Three people at the property were arrested for drugs offences. Further investigations led police to a 19-year-old man who was arrested yesterday.

All five have now been detained under the Terrorism Act.

The men, aged 25, 19 and 16, and two women, both aged 20, who all live in Plymouth, remain in custody, a police spokesman said.

B.S. Report–It’s probably the work of enviro-terrorists who “love” the Earth but hate mankind at the same time. This sounds like the doing of an anti-capitalist “green group.”  But we’ll know any second since the Brits have several people in custody.
