Revenge Of The Crossing Guard: Beats Up 14-Year-Old Student Who Called Him “Fatso”
From NBC Philadelphia (Bottom pic added by B.S. Report)
By Teresa Masterson
An off-duty crossing guard for Drexel Middle School was arrested last Thursday for allegedly beating a 14-year-old boy who taunted him during the school year.
Gerald Kelly, 60, of the 300-block of Shadeland Avenue in Drexel Hill was arrested June 24 after he assaulted the young teen outside a pharmacy after school hours, police say.
“This was a get-even attack,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told the Delaware County Times. “It was certainly inappropriate behavior.”
According to Chitwood, the Drexel Hill Middle School student had taunted Kelly with names like “fatso” and “fat man” throughout the year. (Read more.)

Columnist Of The Day: Walter E. Williams; Where Best To Be Poor
From Townhall.com (Pics added by B.S. Report)
Imagine you are an unborn spirit whom God has condemned to a life of poverty but has permitted to choose the nation in which to live. I’m betting that most any such condemned unborn spirit would choose the United States. Why? What has historically been defined as poverty, nationally or internationally, no longer exists in the U.S. Let’s look at it.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the 2009 poverty guideline was $22,000 for an urban four-person family. In 2009, having income less than that, 15 percent or 40 million Americans were classified as poor, but there’s something unique about those “poor” people not seen anywhere else in the world. Robert Rector, researcher at the Heritage Foundation, presents data collected from several government sources in a report titled “How Poor Are America’s Poor? Examining the ‘Plague’ of Poverty in America” (8/27/2007):
– Forty-three percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage and a porch or patio. (Read more.)

Wimbledon Shocker: The Czech Bounces…Federer From Wimbledon Quarterfinals
From CBS Sports (Pic and video added by B.S. Report)
WIMBLEDON, England — Roger Federer was ousted by Tomas Berdych in four sets in the Wimbledon quarterfinals Wednesday, stopping his bid for a record-tying seventh title at the All England Club.
The 12th-seeded Czech used his big serve and forehand to beat Federer 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 on Centre Court for the biggest victory of his career.
It’s the first time since 2002 that Federer has failed to reach the final. Since losing in the first round eight years ago, Federer had won the title six times and finished runner-up once, bolstering his reputation as the greatest player of all-time.
Winner of a record 16 Grand Slam titles, Federer was clearly outplayed Wednesday by a man who has always possessed enormous talent but often failed to live up to expectations.
The 6-foot-5 Berdych was on the offensive for most of the match, hitting 51 winners, compared to 44 for Federer. (Read more.)

Private Sector Job Market Tanked In June…Only 13,000 Jobs Created Nationwide!
(Pics added by B.S. Report)
(Reuters)–U.S. private employers added just 13,000 jobs in June, according to a report published Wednesday that suggested expectations of a big drop in the government’s upcoming nonfarm payrolls report were on target.
The ADP Employer Services report also said May’s gain was revised marginally higher to 57,000 from the original estimate of 55,000.
That revision was basically the only good news, however, in a report that under-shot expectations of a rise of 60,000 private-sector jobs in June.
It also supported fears that the short and tepid recovery from the worst recession since the 1930s was fizzling. (Read more.)
B.S. Report–Just 13,000 new jobs in the private sector for the entire country! That wouldn’t even be considered good results for California alone. Our President is certainly incompetent but he’s not stupid. He’s not “accidentally” tanking the economy. He’s deliberately trying to place as much of the economy as he can in the hands of the federal government.

Video: Fear The Boom and Bust; Hayek Vs. Keynes Rap Anthem
B.S. Report–While the rest of the world is beginning to run away from the ideas of Keynes, the United States under President Obama has embraced them–and look where it’s taking us.
Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, and Milton Friedman had a much better idea–place the economy in the hands of free individuals who can make their own decisions far more ably than decisions made by government bureaucrats in a centrally-planned economy.

Government Efficiency, Part 2: VA Hospital May Have Infected 1,800 Vets With HIV And Hepatitis
(Pics added by B.S. Report)
From the CNN Wire Staff
(CNN) — A Missouri VA hospital is under fire because it may have exposed more than 1,800 veterans to life-threatening diseases such as hepatitis and HIV.
John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis has recently mailed letters to 1,812 veterans telling them they could contract hepatitis B, hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) after visiting the medical center for dental work, said Rep. Russ Carnahan.
Carnahan said Tuesday he is calling for a investigation into the issue and has sent a letter to President Obama about it.
“This is absolutely unacceptable,” said Carnahan, a Democrat from Missouri. “No veteran who has served and risked their life for this great nation should have to worry about their personal safety when receiving much needed healthcare services from a Veterans Administration hospital.” (Read more.)
