Video: The President Announces End Of Combat Operations In Iraq

B.S. Report—At this point, watching any Obama speech is inherently torturous but that’s even more the case when he’s giving a speech directed towards the military.  It’s particularly nauseating to watch Obama pretend as if he’s done anything whatsoever to support the war effort in Iraq.

Isn’t this the same guy that said the “surge” would actually be a hindrance and that he doesn’t support it?  Isn’t this the same guy who voted several times to defund the war?  Isn’t this the same guy who actually considered the idea that our veterans should pay their own way via private insurance for injuries received defending this country?

Now, as to the speech itself.  The President mouthed words that you knew, in his heart, he doesn’t believe.  I’m not saying that he doesn’t want our troops to return safely.  But I am saying that it was obvious that he never supported their mission.  Nor did Kerry.  Or Reid.  Or Pelosi.  Or Durban.  Or the late John Murtha.  And many, many others—almost all of whom reside in the Democratic Party.

The problem isn’t that these individuals didn’t support the war—it’s that they actively undermined the effort in the hopes that it would pay political dividends.  Dissent, at times, can be patriotic.  But sabotaging our war effort while our guys are dying on the battlefield is not.

In his speech, the President once again said something outrageous.  He mentioned that we will begin withdrawing our troops from Afghanistan next August.  It’s not bad enough that our troops are hamstrung by all sorts of rules of engagement that put their lives at risk, but why do we have to give our enemies our battle strategy?

Obama said the exact same thing last year in his Iraqi speech and now he’s done it again!  This is asinine and dangerous and it makes us question what kind of war we are fighting, and whether the Obama Administration has any desire to win it.

And how about admitting that you, Mr. President, and all your fellow Democrats, were wrong about the surge.  Remember this?
