Columnist Of The Day: John Stossel; Taxing The Rich
From Townhall.com (Pics added by B.S. Report)
Progressives want to raise taxes on individuals who make more than $200,000 a year because they say it’s wrong for the rich to be “given” more money. Sunday’s New York Times carries a cartoon showing Uncle Sam handing money to a fat cat. They just don’t get it.
As I’ve said before, a tax cut is not a handout. It simply means government steals less. What progressives want to do is take money from some — by force — and spend it on others. It sounds less noble when plainly stated.
That’s the moral side of the matter. There’s a practical side, too. Taxes discourage wealth creation. That hurts everyone, the lower end of the income scale most of all. An economy that, through freedom, encourages the production of wealth raises the living standards of lower-income people as well as everyone else. (Read more.)

NFL Game Of The Day: Dallas At Houston (-2′)
From CBS Sports (Pics and video added by B.S. Report)
The Houston Texans signaled their entrance into the NFL with a rousing victory over the Dallas Cowboys eight years ago.
While a loss by Dallas this week would certainly be less embarrassing, it could be much more disastrous.
The Cowboys look to avoid going into their bye week with an 0-3 record as they visit a Texans team boasting the league’s best offense and bidding for its first 3-0 start Sunday.
The expectations were high entering the 2010 campaign for Dallas (0-2), which went 11-5 to win the NFC East last year and earned its first playoff victory in 13 years.
The Super Bowl will be held in Cowboys Stadium this year – the 50th anniversary of the franchise – and Dallas was considered a prime contender to get there.
Instead, the Cowboys are among the league’s biggest disappointments. Their offense has produced two touchdowns, their defense has two sacks and has forced no turnovers, and their special teams have faltered with new kicker David Buehler missing two of four field-goal attempts. (Read more.)

College Football Preview: Stanford (-5) At Notre Dame
From CBSSports.com (Pics and video added by B.S. Report)
One of the nation’s elite quarterbacks has led Stanford to three consecutive blowout victories, and the Cardinal will have extra motivation to continue their surge Saturday in South Bend.
It has been 18 years since Stanford’s last win at Notre Dame and even longer since its most recent 4-0 start, but Andrew Luck and the No. 16 Cardinal will look to end both droughts while sending the Fighting Irish to a third consecutive defeat.
Luck has been earning some Heisman Trophy buzz by throwing 10 touchdown passes without an interception to spark Stanford’s early rise, which featured a 68-24 win over Wake Forest last Saturday night.
The sophomore went 17 for 23 for 207 yards and four touchdowns, adding a 52-yard TD run in what coach Jim Harbaugh called a “flawless” performance as the Cardinal (3-0) posted their highest point total since 1968. (Read more.)

College Football Game Of The Day: Alabama (-7) At Arkansas
From CBS Sports (Pics and video added by B.S. Report)
Alabama’s offensive star appears to be at full strength and effectiveness. The same is definitely true for Arkansas, the first opponent in a rough three-week stretch of schedule for the nation’s top-ranked team.
The Crimson Tide travel to Fayetteville to open their SEC schedule against unbeaten No. 10 Arkansas on Saturday.
Alabama (3-0) heads to Reynolds Razorback Stadium with a healthy Mark Ingram, who returned from injury last week and turned in a spectacular performance in a 62-13 victory over Duke last Saturday. He took his first carry 48 yards and finished with 151 yards and two touchdowns on just nine rushes, playing only the first half.
“Felt better than I did before I had the injury,” Ingram said. (Read more.)

How Do The Rich Feel About Paying Higher Taxes? They Vote With Their Feet And Get The Heck Out!
From the New York Daily News (Pics added by B.S. Report)
By Jim Powell
The New York Yankees’ star shortstop Derek Jeter has become the latest to flee the Empire State as spendthrift state officials target the rich. Jeter put his 70th-floor, 5,425-square-foot Trump World Tower condo on the market for a reported $20 million. He had bought it in 2001, after signing a 10-year contract with the Yankees. He will now make his undisputed residence in Tampa, where a 30,875-square-foot, seven-bedroom mansion is nearing completion.
The reason for this move has little to do with his loyalty, or lack thereof, for New York. Rather, it’s likely a simple calculation: New York City is among the highest-taxed places in the U.S., including hefty state and city income taxes. Florida doesn’t have an income tax, so Jeter, whose contract pays him $18.9 million annually, will be able to save a bundle. (Read more.)

Columnist Of The Day: Emmett Tyrrell; The Other Delaware Candidate
From Townhall.com (Pics added by B.S. Report)
WASHINGTON – Christine O’Donnell, the tea party-supported Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Delaware, has no secrets. The press even has gone back to her high-school years and found that she “dabbled” in witchcraft. But now, Jeffrey Lord of The American Spectator has been scrutinizing her opponent, Democratic candidate Chris Coons.
Lord did not have to go back to Coons’ high-school days. He found quite a lot in Coons’ infatuation with Marxism, starting in college. Coons found Marx about the time that large numbers of Marxist pols behind the Iron Curtain had given him up. By the 1990s, even jailers and torturers were forsaking old Karl, but not Coons.
