NFL Playoff Preview Part III: Seattle At Chicago (-10)

From CBS Sports  (Pics and video added by B.S. Report)

The Seattle Seahawks haven’t bothered listening to their critics after entering the playoffs with the worst regular season record of any qualifier in NFL history.

If their victory over the defending Super Bowl champions wasn’t enough proof, the Chicago Bears know first-hand their capabilities of pulling off another upset.

Seattle looks to shed the underdog label once again Sunday and win its first road playoff game in more than 27 years as it faces Chicago in the NFC divisional playoffs.

The Seahawks, who won the NFC West with a 7-9 record, beat heavily favored New Orleans 41-36 last Saturday behind four touchdown passes from Matt Hasselbeck. Though doubters still remain, coach Pete Carroll keeps reminding his players they are only one more upset away from the NFC championship game.   (Read more.)

NFL Playoff Preview II: Green Bay At Atlanta (-1′)

From CBS Sports (Pics and video added by B.S. Report)

Following a late November victory against the visiting Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White said he wanted no part of a possible playoff game in Wisconsin.

While the Pro Bowler got his wish as Atlanta locked up home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs and avoided the potentially arctic Green Bay weather, the Falcons will have faced plenty of blustery conditions by the time their divisional matchup against the Packers starts Saturday night at the Georgia Dome.

Leading the NFC-best Falcons into their first home playoff game in exactly six years, third-year quarterback Matt Ryan looks for his first postseason victory as Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks to build on his first playoff win.   (Read more.)

NFL Playoff Preview: Baltimore At Pittsburgh (-3)

From CBS Sports  (Pics and video added by B.S. Report)

The Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers have long been defined by their defenses, so it’s natural that the two AFC North powers have embraced a back-and-forth rivalry characterized by their physicality and down-to-the-wire finishes.

It’s a quarterback, however, who’s swung the pendulum in Pittsburgh’s favor.

The Steelers have won the last six installments of one of the NFL’s fiercest rivalries when Ben Roethlisberger has played, a trend they’ll hope to continue when the Ravens travel to Heinz Field for Saturday’s AFC Divisional showdown.   (Read more.)

There are many heroes who showed indomitable courage and grace under fire during this weekend’s horrific Tucson massacre. Blowhard Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik was not one of them.

If the White House has any sense, President Obama will stay far away from the demagogic Dupnik and his media entourage when he visits Arizona on Wednesday to memorialize the victims. Indeed, if the White House is truly committed to unifying the country, it will explicitly disavow Dupnik’s vulture-like exploitation of the shooting rampage.   (Read more.)
