Columnist Of The Day: David Limbaugh; Hate And Violence From The Left; It’s Not Right

How much longer can the Democratic Party, the mainstream media and other leftists successfully maintain the ruse that intolerance, hatred and the propensity for violence mainly come from the right in this country? The lie is getting old.

The left’s ideas continue to fail in the real world, and the majority of the people reject them, which is why their proponents so often disguise their true intentions. Partially because they can’t prevail on a level playing field, they use whatever means they can to advance their agenda. One of those means is to pre-emptively strike their political opponents by falsely condemning them for behavior that they — leftists — actually engage in. It’s called “projection.”   (Read more.)

Columnist Of The Day: Thomas Sowell; Voices Of Moderation

From Townhall.com  (Pics added by B.S. Report)

Moderation– at least verbal moderation– is suddenly in vogue.

President Obama’s rhetoric has moderated, even if his policies and practices have not. Among Republicans, voices of moderation are warning that the party cannot win elections without having a “big tent” and reaching out to Hispanics, for example. Recently, talk show host Michael Medved has suggested that Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin should moderate their attacks on Obama.

Moderation is fine– if it is not carried to extremes. But some moderates seem to think that it is always a good thing to tone down your words. Yet history shows that muffling your message can mean forfeiting many a battle to extremists.   (Read more.)

Happy 279th Birthday George!

B.S. Report–It can hardly be argued that George Washington is the single most important individual in our nation’s history.  He dominated the political landscape for more than two decades as both soldier and statesman.  Unfortunately, his birthday holiday has been moved from his actual birthday (today) and further altered into insignificance by calling his holiday “Presidents Day,” as if we’re honoring George Washington, James Buchanan, and, God help us, Barack Obama equally.

Yet, his influence is felt even today as many of our precedents date back to Washington himself.  You can learn more about our greatest citizen by reading one of the countless biographies of Washington.  I recommend “Washington: The Indispensable Man” by James Thomas Flexner or “Washington by Douglas Southall Freeman.  Flexner’s book is a little more accessible while Freeman’s is comprehensive but on the dry side.  Both are abridged versions of multi-volume treatments.

B.S. Report–Here’s my official rankings of America’s presidents; well, actually a ranking of our best president and our worst president…

Columnist Of The Day: Thomas Sowell; Reckless Spending

Nothing more clearly illustrates the utter irresponsibility of Barack Obama than his advocacy of “high-speed rail.” The man is not stupid. He knows how to use words that will sound wonderful to people who do not bother to stop and think.

High-speed rail may be feasible in parts of Europe or Japan, where the population density is much higher than in the United States. But, without enough people packed into a given space, there will never be enough riders to repay the high cost of building and maintaining a high-speed rail system.   (Read more.)
