Columnist Of The Day: Thomas Sowell; Obama’s ‘Balanced’ Approach

From Townhall.com (Pics added by B.S. Report)

Barack Obama’s political genius is his ability to say things that will sound good to people who have not followed the issues in any detail — regardless of how obviously fraudulent what he says may be to those who have. Shameless effrontery can be a huge political asset, especially if uninformed voters outnumber those who are informed.

President Obama’s big pitch in his Monday night televised talk was that what is needed to deal with the national debt crisis is a “balanced” approach — not just spending cuts but revenue increases as well. (Read more.)

Video: John Boehner’s Republican Response To Obama’s Debt Ceiling Speech

B.S. Report–I’m not a fan of Boehner–he’s no conservative, and I am for removing him from his speakership when possible–but I am a fan of anyone who will attempt to stop this government juggernaut from spending us into a third-world existence. Yes, the Republicans under GWB spent far too much and expanded the Federal government far too much and we conservatives attacked him for it. However, compared to Obama, GWB was a frugal piker…

Video: Unbalanced Obama Calls For Balanced Approach; Continues Class Warfare Rhetoric

B.S. Report–Whenever our “esteemed” leader moves his lips–he’s lying. He pretends that we don’t have the money to pay Social Security in an attempt to scare seniors while he also refuses to admit that there’s plenty of money coming in for us to avoid defaulting on our debt service. And all the while he continues to play the class warfare card because he’s simply incapable of telling the truth–and the facts don’t back up his rhetoric.

President Obama is the most irresponsible spender in world history and he’s the last guy who should be lecturing the American people on fiscal policy. And if we allow the “arsonist-in-chief” to put out the fire he largely created, we will only allow him another shot at burning down the country. Frankly, at this point, just listening to his speeches makes me sick.

Poor fella, he must have seen the Obama speech...

Video: President Obama’s Endless Campaign…He Always Makes Time To Kiss La Raza Butt

B.S. Report–How does an organization that dislikes the United States get the President of the United States to endlessly pander to them? Answer: The President needs their money and their votes, and he also would love to allow as many illegals (aka Democrats) into the States to ensure that they have a future voting bloc.

Obama just can’t stop badmouthing those that work hard and succeed in this country. To the former community agitator, those are just individuals that aren’t paying their fair share. Come to think of it, maybe President Obama isn’t pandering to La Raza (The Race). Maybe he just simply shares their worldview and doesn’t like the United States any more than they do.

Mark Steyn: The “T” Word

One of the depressing features of the Republican party is the way they get suckered time and again into playing on Democrats’ terms. The pathetic spectacle of grown men and women sitting around in meetings trying to agree on “grand bargains” to save $43.7 bazillion in federal spending by 2023 before an allegedly looming deadline of August 2nd is almost too perfect a snapshot of Washington stupidity.

The rest of the world isn’t looking for a grand bargain by August 2nd. And it knows enough about the decadent state of U.S. law-making to know that any such bargain would be voted through unread and begin to unravel by sun up on the 3rd. And getting Republicans to explain that not to worry, they’re not pushing seniors off the cliff immediately – that existing grampas will be grandfathered in — is a way to make the whole debt debate toxic. If we have to pretend that August 2nd is any kind of deadline, why don’t we simplify matters? (Read more.)
