Northern Mexico?…California County Now Accepts Mexican ID Card As Valid

In Sonoma County, a California driver’s license is accepted as valid identification — but so is a card issued by the Mexican consulate.
Mexican nationals will be able to give their country’s state-issued identification cards as valid ID to Santa Rosa police officers and Sonoma County sheriffs, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reported. The idea is to reduce the immigration-related duties of local cops, the newspaper reported. (Read more.)

Just Give Me The Money!…Judge Blocks Florida Law Requiring Welfare Applicants To Pass Drug Test

ORLANDO, Fla. (WLS) – A federal judge temporarily blocked Florida’s new law that requires welfare applicants to pass a drug test before receiving the benefits on Monday, saying it may violate the Constitution’s ban on unreasonable searches and seizures.
Judge Mary Scriven’s ruling is in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union that claims the law is unconstitutional. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a 35-year-old Navy veteran and single father who sought the benefits while finishing his college degree, but refused to take the test. (Read more.)

“I think it fits,” said Matt Holliday, who witnessed Pujols from the St. Louis Cardinals’ on-deck circle on Saturday night. “The guy’s a once-in-a-generation player. He should do something in the World Series like this.” (Read more.)

Students Face Charges For Sex Act…During Class!

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)– It has happened again. There are reports of students engaged in inappropriate sexual acts, and this time, it happened in a school during class.
Baltimore County Police showed up at Milford Mill Academy Thursday. Three students are charged with a perverted sex act and indecent exposure. (Read more.)

U.S. Taxpayers Pay Tab For Electric Car Company…In Finland!

With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work.
Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department’s $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. (Read more.)
